Basketing process!
Basketing will start at 17:00 on Wednesday. You are most welcome to
come and see the condition of your pigeons at basketing for the main
race.
The pigeon's electronic ring will be scanned and its ring number will
be displayed on the computer screen. The Auditor will then publicly
read out the ring number to all fanciers that are present at the
basketing for their verification that the information is correct.
Once basketing is completed the pigeons are fed, loaded onto the truck
and then watered. They are then left for a well deserved nights rest
before leaving for Fuerteventura Island the next morning (Thursday).
The full basketing list will be available on the website.

About pigeons Not returned by the 3rd day

Thursday 8 April 2008 - 20:00 hours LOFT REPORT: Wind at >21 nudes SW
(Headwind on the nose).
This is the weather that pigeons encountered in "Gran Canaria" island
or in the middle of the sea, a disaster would have occurred, but I was
lucky, most of the pigeons were near or over Tenerife at 10:30 in the
morning.
Please, remember this: Canary Islands support localised weather
conditions that change in a matter of hours. Early on Sunday morning
winds were 10 Km/h. On Sunday at 10:00 winds were 45 Km/h. The most
difficult place to fly pigeons in the world is here, but the surviving
pigeons we take into the stock Loft as they are the cracks. This makes
Canary Pigeons famous throughout the world.
